February 2010
Dear Dental Colleague,
The Dental Management Coalition (DMC) was created to support dental directors and dental professionals from the USPHS Region II area who work in community health centers. Community based health centers provide the much needed comprehensive and culturally competent primary health care services to the under served and vulnerable sectors of the population. DMC's mission is to support, strengthen and expand such health care access.
Over the past 20 years, DMC has held dental conferences to meet the needs of health center dental programs. In planning a DMC meeting agenda, we do our utmost to include important and timely issues that dental professionals face each day in a health center setting. Presentations are made by some of the best leaders in clinical dentistry and practice management. With this knowledge, dental staffs can create better oral health outcomes for their patients, and achieve more efficient and effective practice environments.
Our next annual conference will be held from June 27th to June 29th, 2010 at the Westin Annapolis in Annapolis, Maryland. DMC is now an ADA CERP recognized provider and is offering 16 credits for the program. The city of Annapolis is beautifully situated on the Chesapeake Bay. Annapolis is also very easy to reach by car, train or plane and is close to Baltimore, Maryland and Washington DC. Please read the insert in our registration brochure about historic Annapolis and also about DMC's special promotions available to early registrants! Arrive early or stay later to enjoy this fantastic location.
Community health centers are facing challenging times in dental care - an overwhelming demand for dental care to a larger number of patients and a limited capacity to meet that need. Networking with other health center dental professionals and sharing similar experiences is an important aspect of our conference. Our meetings are smaller in scale and in a more intimate setting - creating an environment to encourage more meaningful discussions.
The Dental Management Coalitions wants to help dental staffs deliver quality and affordable dental care. We want to help dental professionals invest in America's health care future. Take a moment to visit our website, . Join us in Annapolis, Maryland!
Very truly yours,
Janet Lavandeira, DMD
